The Meridian houses in the Sicily subdivision have 1,400 to 2,700 square feet, with four bedrooms and room for two or three cars in the garage. Most of the Meridian properties, begun in 2010 with construction still going, are built on about one-seventh to one-fifth of an acre. Sicily has a handful of common spaces with a playground, basketball court, and walking paths.
This subdivision is on the western edge of Meridian, surrounded by undeveloped land and other neighborhoods. Though in a quiet location, the fun and convenience of the city is not far away from Sicily. The interstate is just over a mile away, giving easy access to downtown Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. Downtown Meridian is just north of the freeway, offering shopping and services. Also close by are Roaring Springs Water Park, Wahooz Family Fun Zone, and Majestic Cinemas.
Children in Sicily currently attend Lake Hazel Middle and Mountain View High School, though because boundaries frequently change parents should check with the Meridian School District’s website. The Siena K-8 Magnet School covers elementary school-age children as well as those accepted into its gifted/talented program for middle school.
