Clearly, one of the main attractions in the area is its ample supply of wonderful skiing, courtesy of the Sun Valley ski resort. However, the area has an abundance of outdoor activities throughout the entire year. The Sawtooth Recreation Area, for example, is nearly 800,000 acres in total and provides for all sorts of recreational opportunities. Film fans will be interested to know that the classic Western movie Pale Rider was shot in Sawtooth.
