Skateboard Area of McDevitt Park
Mostly surrounded by other Meridian subdivisions, Heritage Commons also borders a few medical facilities, including a pediatrician and dentist.  The neighborhood is halfway between two city parks, Settlers’ and Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex.  Settlers’ Park hosts many community events for the residents of the nearby Meridian homes with its playground, pond, open fields, picnic shelter, and interactive water feature, and the Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex has playgrounds, baseball diamonds, a skateboard park, and a pond.

Children in Heritage Commons currently attend the nearby Prospect Elementary and Heritage Middle, as well as Rocky Mountain High School.  However, because boundaries frequently change parents should check the Meridian School District’s website.  Nearby alternatives include the Meridian Technical Charter High School and the Meridian Medical Arts Charter School.
