There was a time when people would not think of Nampa, Idaho when considering which restaurants to visit unless they actually lived in Nampa and they were just looking for something local. But Nampa, which is a bedroom community of Boise, and is the second largest city in Idaho, has seen growth and an increase in great local amenities, including restaurants.

The BRICK 29 BISTRO is one of those gems that Nampa has to offer. Brick 29 Bistro reinvents comfort food to bring its patron's unique flavors and a culinary adventure. Priding themselves in their use of produce from local farmers and vendors, Brick 29th Bistro provides lunch and dinner menus as well as catering options. Located at 320 11th Ave. S., Brick 29 is situated on the third floor of the hundred-year-old former Masonic Hall and provides a view of Nampa from it's many large windows, located on two walls. The menu offers a kaleidoscope of flavors from around the world but it is it's Huckleberry Pork Sirloin Steak and Hagerman Trout which speaks to it's home here in Idaho. Even though Brick 29's flavors will expand your culinary horizons, the ingredients used are resourced locally as much as possible. Even the bar offers local beers from Payette Brewing and Crooked Fence, and wines from the Snake River Valley.

If you are looking to satisfy your taste buds with a little Asian flair, trying out the THAILAND EXPRESS at 2025 12th Ave., Rd. for genuine Thai food at very reasonable prices. Vegetarian options are also available. And when you have finished your dinner you can enjoy some of Thailand Expresse’s delicious homemade coconut or green tea ice cream, or mango and sweet sticky rice. Thailand Express is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM until 9:30 PM. The staff is very friendly and service is great and that, along with delicious authentic tasting Thai food, is the reason that this restaurant is usually very busy.

MESSENGER PIZZA AND BREWERY is located at 1224 1st St. S. and offers pizza for all, including those who would choose vegetarian or vegan options. The decor is quirky and mismatched which gives it an eclectic, and artsy feel with a little side of “hippy”. Messenger serves not only whole pizza pies but also pizza by the slice, and sandwiches which you can order with sodas, craft beers, or local wine. Breads are made in-house which gives the sandwiches and pizzas a fresh taste. Dine in or carry out, pizza lovers find that messenger pizza and brewery has the choices and flavors that they would expect in a great pizza restaurant.

THE EGG FACTORY has several locations throughout the Treasure Valley, and its Nampa location is at 820 Caldwell Blvd. The Egg Factory provides good food at reasonable prices. This restaurant has been in the same location for many years and has always offered good food and outstanding service. Whether your party is large or small, a space will be made at the table for all. Prices are reasonable and portions are large, whether you are choosing their jumbo homemade cinnamon roll or a plate of homemade meatloaf, you will not leave this restaurant hungry.

THE TOWER GRILL BREAKFAST AND BURGERS, located near the Nampa Municipal Airport, and just a few steps from the historic Hawks Air Museum. Tower Grill blends good food with a friendly atmosphere which celebrates the love of flying of owner Nate Lindskoog. Open from 7 AM until 3 PM, dishes are what you would expect on breakfast and lunch menus, but many have names that celebrate their location near the airport such as “Full Flap” jacks and the Tower Smoothie. On Friday nights from 5 to 8 PM, cold beer and a special appetizer menu, as well as a weekly entrée are offered at their “Friday Nights at the Tower”.

Service is usually good and you get plenty of great tasting food for the price. This casual dining Mexican restaurant is modestly priced and has many fans from around the area.
