Anybody interested in purchasing Idaho real estate should examine the medical facilities in the area. There are six hospital facilities in Boise that cover a wide variety of medical and health needs, and which make the Boise area a sound choice for residing:
Boise VA Medical Center Idaho Elks Rehab Hospital Intermountain Hospital St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center Treasure Valley Hospital
Boise VA Medical Center The VA medical center is a primary and secondary health facility with 42 authorized beds and an adjacent 32 bed nursing home that also includes a nine bed wing for substance abuse. Generally reserved for US military veterans, the VA hospital offers a wide variety of support and programs. Specialized community health outreach is also part of their program, and the hospital is associated with other educational institutions in the area, including the nursing program at Boise State University.
Idaho Elks Rehab Hospital The Elks Rehab Hospital is one of the Northwest’s premier facilities for rehabilitation services related to strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic disorders and, other such problems. This hospital includes both in-patient and out-patient services and has been in Boise for over 60 years. They sponsor various community programs including wheelchair races. Their staff of specialists is widely and highly regarded.
Intermountain Hospital Intermountain Hospital provides services to those with mental or emotional stress related disorders and those with chemical dependencies.
St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Founded in 1894 by the sisters of the Holy Cross, St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center is a 381 bed hospital that provides advanced care to an area that extends into northern Nevada and eastern Oregon. With over 70 primary care physicians on the staff, the hospital can provide a broad range of medical support, including outpatient surgery, urgent care, laboratories and other diagnostics services as well as primary and specialized physician care.
St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center St. Luke’s is a non-profit health system that operates eight facilities in the area surrounding Boise, including nursing programs that work with three surrounding college and university nursing schools.
As the largest hospital complex in the area, St. Luke’s offers the broadest array of services to the Boise area, including in-patient and out-patient surgery, rehabilitation, women’s health, oncology, coronary problems, neural disorders and a wide variety of conditions.
Founded over 100 years ago, St. Luke’s continues its non-profit orientation by providing health services to thousands without regard to their ability to pay for the services.
Treasure Valley Hospital Treasure Valley Hospital was founded in 1996 and provides highly specialized and individual care. The hospital offers a variety of surgical procedures with personalized concern and care from the highly qualified staff.
