Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned skater, you are sure to have fun either roller blading or roller skating at the Nampa Rollerdrome. You can either rent skates for $2 or bring your own, and admission is extremely affordable at only $8 a session on weekends and $5 on weekdays. They also do skating lessons, inline hockey, speed skating, and roller derby. They have a snack bar with fun games while you take a break (such as a crane machine), and they have birthday packages so you could host a party at the Rollerdrome and eat at the tables near the snack bar. This is a fun spot to hang out with friends and listen to popular music (and make requests) as disco lights dance around the rink while you skate.
Bowling at Nampa Bowl
If skating isn’t really your speed and you enjoy being more on your feet, try bowling at the Nampa Bowl. Admission here is also affordable at only $7.50 for three games, shoes included, and a soda. They also have specific days and times where things are only a dollar—these are called “dollar days” at the bowling alley—such as Tuesdays from 5 pm to 10 pm, where not only the games are $1 but the food and drinks are all $1 as well; this is also the case on Thursdays from 10 am until midnight and Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm.
Nampa is a growing city and has recently brought in a large amount of popular chains, such as Panera, Zupas, and Chipotle. However, some of the hidden gems that are special to this area are Blazen Burgers, Thailand Express, Krung Thai, Jalapeños, and Andy’s Mexican Food. If you like things spicy, there are plenty of Mexican restaurants, bakeries, and food trucks throughout Nampa, but two of the local favorites are Jalapeños and Andy’s Mexican food. In particular, the chile rellanos at Jalapeños has a reputation for being the best around.
As for American food, Blazen Burgers is a drive-thru restaurant that offers deliciously made burgers, fries, shakes, and more. It’s one of the best burger joints around, with the food tasting homemade. The mozzarella sticks are a hit and the shakes are thick and creamy (and half off after 8 pm!).
Finally, for Asian restaurants, there are plenty to choose from, but two of the most popular are Krung Thai and Thailand Express. Taste and quality goes a long way, an these two establishments really bring a lot to the table (literally, too).
