Office Workroom

Many realtors sit now at their desk wishing they could create a team or grow their team, understanding its value but not knowing how to bring a team together.  Certainly, any decision to do with one’s business should be carefully calculated, yet there comes a time when steps must be taken for something good to happen.  When is that?  When should you add another member to your team, whether you have one, two, or twenty team members already?  How can real estate teams determine whether there’s “too many cooks in the kitchen” or “many hands make light work?”  High-performance teams get over this conundrum, determining how many people on make sense for the team.  Any extra and there is excess that is wasting at least one person’s time and money; too few…

Red and Black Bike

Boise is one of the most bicycle friendly cities in the west – and for several outstanding reasons. Boise, Idaho is designated as a “Bicycle Friendly Community” by the League of American Bicyclists, which is no surprise – with over 220 miles of on-street bike lanes and more than 46 miles of bike routes, it's ideally suited for those who are searching for an alternative way to get to work – or to ramp up their training.

Rick Overton is a member of the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance board, and in a May 2013 interview with Boise State Public Radio, he claimed that Boise's cycling culture is more active than it was a decade ago, which is keeping up with the national trend. He went on to say that the attraction of living in Boise for a lot of people is…

On January 1, 1992 in the empty State Attorney General's office, a single spark from a cigarette butt caused $3.2 million dollars worth of damage to the Idaho State Capitol Building. It's confounding to think about how such a small thing can cause so much damage – and it serves as a shocking reminder how easily things can go wrong and how valuable city and state treasures are to citizens and politicians.

A security guard noticed the fire in late afternoon, and shortly thereafter 50 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to put out the flames. After a rough 45 minutes, the flames were doused, but not before fire, smoke, and water damage scoured the second floor offices and destroyed computers and documents in the State Attorney General's office and…

Some want to be out on their own, able to make or break their own destiny.  Those with this individualistic personality often enjoy sports like singles tennis, golf, skiing or running; while this can be great for sports, real estate is a little different as basically no one can have success on their own.  In order for high-performance teams to create strong teams and keep them together, all need to be convincingly shown and reminded the value of a team.  High-performance teams easily show their value, but sometimes conversations needs to occur, numbers need to be shown.  The industry changes so often, the needs of clients are so varied, and there is so much that presses upon an agent between keeping up with their valued clients, finding new prospects…
