Weiser, ID is located at the confluence of the Snake River and Weiser River along the Oregon border. Being so close to Oregon, Weiser makes for easy weekend get-a-ways to the Oregon coast. Age of Homes
Most of the houses have been built since 1970 with the greatest construction boom between 1970 and 1979. In 2009, there were approximately 700 houses built before 1939. New construction is still going on, however, with over 100 houses built since 2005.
This city, with a population of approximately 10,000, has a mild climate perfect for growing plants. It easily supports the orchards, farms and livestock concerns in the area.
It has a long, proud tradition of folk music, especially the fiddle, and sponsors an annual National Old-time Fiddle Contest. This festival, held in June, has more than just fiddling and is renowned for its quality clogging displays.
Hunting is a popular sport in Weiser with a variety of wildlife available. The area includes high desert, foothills, forests, mountains, rivers and lakes for a wide range of territory and prey to choose from.
Neighborhoods and Parks
The Weiser City Park is a combination of classic and new. It has an up-to-date playground great for kids to exhaust all their energy. However, there is also a gazebo, picnic areas, and a BBQ pit which gives the park a more classic rural feel reminiscent of the good old days.
Weiser is uniquely located at the Hells Canyon National Park's South entrance making all activities of this national park easily available. Activities most enjoyed here include hiking, horseback riding and even cross-country skiing in the winter.
Weiser has several innovative ideas that combine shopping with a bit of adventure. One of these is referred to as the Charm Trail. Anyone wanting to participate buys a charm bracelet at the chamber of commerce for $5. This price includes a map of other places to stop in town and pick up a special charm for the bracelet for $1 each.
There's a wide range of activities to choose from. Outside oriented organizations include the Gardeners Workshop, Indianhead Fly Fishers and Indianhead Archery. Inside activities can include the American Bowling Congress Inc and Friends of the Library.
Though a small town Weiser residents dont let time slip by unoticed, the community calendar is filled with tons of things to do all month long. The chamber of commerce works hand in hand with the community to improve the area making it more inclined for uniting a city. It is no doubt that Weiser, Idaho is a great place to own Idaho real estate.
