Age of Homes This segment of Idaho real estate was one of the first established in Payette County. Many settlers planned and paid for the land prior to starting the construction process back in 1896. By the year of 1939, 97 homes were already complete. Between 1940 and 1969 nearly 200 new homes were added within the New Plymouth settlement. The prime growth of dwellings in the 83655 zip code materialized between the years of 1970 and 1999. Throughout these three decades, 235 homes had been created in the formation of a large horseshoe. At least 35 additional housing units were built since the year of 2000.
Area Information New Plymouth is located approximately 49 miles to the north west of the capital city of Boise, Idaho. New Plymouth is highly recognized for having the “world’s largest horseshoe” because in the year of 1896, the town was built to represent a one-mile wide horseshoe. When entering the town from the south, you will see a sign that says “New Plymouth Welcomes You, World's Largest Horseshoe, Home of the Pilgrims”. An additional unique feature is the large waterwheel located on Southwest First Street.
