Bellevue Idaho Homes and Lifestyle
Age of Homes The large majority of Bellevue homes have been built in the past forty years. In fact, 1,705 homes -- 87% of all Bellevue real estate -- have been built during this time period. The '80s and '90s saw the biggest housing boom as about 450 new homes were erected in the '80s, and approximately 600 in the '90s. More recently, new home production has tapered off a bit, but residents still have plenty of interest in creating their dream house from scratch. Since 2000, about another 300 houses have been constructed.
While there aren't nearly as many homes built before the '70s, and very few houses from the '40s, '50s, and '60s still remain, there are still a number of older houses that exist. Approximately 110 homes in Bellevue have been around since before 1940.
Home Values For those of you seeking Idaho real estate and have a few extra dollars to spend, Bellevue might be the fit for you. In 2009, the estimated median house value in Bellevue was $355,321, which is more than double the $171,700 figure for the state of Idaho.
Area Information The estimated median household income as of 2011 is sitting at $52,338, comfortably above the state median of $44,926. Nearly all residents, 97.5%, both live and work in Blaine county.
Bellevue is a growing town, as the recent influx in new homes suggests. The estimated population in 2000 was 3,043 residents. Since then the estimated population has risen to at least 3,584 residents, a nearly 18% growth in just the past decade.
Yet despite this recent growth, there is still only a population density of 14 people per square mile, which gives plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Neighborhoods and Parks Bellevue is home to quite a few creeks an lakes, and as such you will find plenty of places to stop and go fishing. Or if you want to venture off into other nearby towns of Blaine County like, Hailey, ID to the north, population 9,430, and Carey, ID to the east, population 538, among others.
Nearby Shopping Bellevue is home to a wide assortment of businesses. From furniture stores, to jewelery stores, supermarkets and flower shops, there are plenty of places to do some shopping. Outside of town, twenty miles away in nearby Ketchum, there is the shopping center Giacobbi Square. Here you'll find restaurants, bars, and other shops such as the Atkinson's Market and a Ray Ban location.
