You SCREAM, I SCREAM, We all scream for ICE CREAM!

In the Heat of SummerWhen the days in Boise get hotter than hot, and the roads and sidewalks seem like a frying pan on the stove there are only a few things you can do to stay cool. The most tasty option, and probably the best in many opinions, would be to peruse the local ice cream shops. Whether its mint chocolate chip, rocky road, or just simply vanilla; ice cream is king of summer!

Goody's Soda Fountain
Let's start off with a virtual visit to Goody's Soda Fountain in North Boise, located at 1502 N. 13th Street.  (Be you experience this live and in taste-tempting person, too!)
If you're seeking homemade ice cream that will delight your palette, Goody's has got it! From cones to dishes, sundaes to milk shakes, Goody's is a mouth-watering option. You'll also love the tantalizing aroma of their fresh caramel corn, hand-dipped chocolate and other sinfully good candy confections. Goody's is a favorite among Idaho residents and tourists alike.

Delsa's Ice Cream Parlor
Set in a retro diner atmosphere, Delsa's features burgers, fries and the like, but the star of their menu is the delicious homemade ice cream. Usually featuring about eight scrumptious flavors, and generous servings; Delsa's has been a long time member of the community. There's a covered outdoor patio. Shakes, malts, ice cream, sodas, cones, frozen yogurt - when it comes to delicious frozen goodies, Delsa's serves it up proudly. Their address is 7923 Ustick Road in Boise. Well worth checking out.

Ben & Jerry's
Of course, one of Idaho's most famous ice cream connections is Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop at 103 North 10th Street in downtown Boise. Fresh fruit smoothies, shakes, sundaes & more abound here, as well as great sampling opportunities of the newest as well as favorite flavors. Ice cream cakes from B & J's are awesome, too. What's not to love?

Cold Stone Creamery
As you can tell, there's no limit to the great options you have when it comes to ice cream shops in Boise! The Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor (205 W. Main Street) is charming and serves homemade ice cream from Delsa's (above). You'll also find Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone Creamery, TCBY and a variety of flavorful frozen tasty treat purveyors. Why not go on an investigative " progressive dessert mission" and try as many as possible? Ice cream rules!
