Non-Stop Flight to...VACATION!!!
Posted by Kevin Hughes on Sunday, July 10th, 2011 at 11:43am.Everybody loves a great vacation- but does getting to your vacation sometimes seem like a chore? If you don't live near an airport it could make things a little hectic. In Boise, many residents can pull out of the driveway... get to the airport and jump on the plane in less than 30 minutes for a quick vacation get away.

The Boise Airport (BOI) has a great location on the South side of the city of Boise just past I84. The airport is close...but not too close...to most Boise neighborhoods. This is the major airport serving Idahoans in the southwestern part of the state. The regional airport is served by six airlines with scheduled non-stop service to 15 cities. The airlines are:
- Alaska/Horizon
- Delta
- Frontier
- Southwest
- United Airlines
- US Airways
The Boise airport, under the direction of the Boise Department of Aviation, is located only five minutes from downtown. The airport features an elevated roadway for departures, eight curbside check in counters, 44 inside
counters, free Wi-fi and a cell phone waiting lot for passenger pick up.
PARKING
Leaving a car in the covered parking structure is easy with more than 1,300 spaces available for short term and long term parking. This adds to the advantage of owning Boise real estate. Shuttle service is also available to the airport from downtown hotels.
DESTINATIONS
Airlines from BOI offer non-stop service to the following airports in the western U.S.:
Non-stop service is available from Boise to Chicago's O'Hare (ORD) and the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport (MSP). There are direct (one stop but no plane change) flights to Orange County (SNA), San Diego (SAN) and Ontario (ONT) in California along with Dallas (DFW) and Orlando (MCO). Denver and Salt Lake City, only an hour or two by air from Boise, are major hubs with numerous scheduled flights to the mid-West and East Coast.
Alaska and United Airlines fly to Hawaii from Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles giving Idaho property owners easy access to a warm destination during the cold winter months. Alaska Airlines offers non-stop service to Anchorage and Juneau from Seattle with Boise passengers on Horizon having sufficient time for connections. Seattle also offers scheduled service to Vancouver and other Canadian cities. Orlando and Miami can also be reached from Boise through Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City or Phoenix.
INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS
Boise passengers can easily connect through Minneapolis or Chicago's O'Hare airport for non-stop flights to some European destinations. Airlines serving Minneapolis and Chicago have many daily flights to New York's JFK or New Jersey's Newark airports for international connections to Europe and beyond.
Connections from Boise to Japan and China are easiest through Seattle. Los Angeles International has connections to Central and South America, Australia and the South Pacific. All of the destination airports offer service to sunny Mexico and beyond.
