During the summer the temperatures in Idaho can reach 85 to 90 degrees, creating a warm climate for a move. However, many moves take place during the summer months, as career changes occur and as individuals seek to become settled prior to the new school year. For a successful move into your new Idaho home, follow the easy moving tips outlined below.

Basic Packing Tips
Packing your life into boxes can be stressful and requires planning. The following are a few basic tips for packing anytime of year: 

• Pack valuables in towels or soft clothes to save money on packing materials. 
• Reinforce the bottom of the boxes. Moving is stressful enough without picking up a box and having everything fall out and break. 
• Mark each box with the room it belongs in and what's in it. Mark it on all four sides and the top. This way the boxes don't have to be shifted or opened just to figure out where it goes.
• If moving appliances such as a refrigerator, make sure the appliance is cleaned out. Appliances can also be used to store more fragile items as they will add an extra layer of protection.
• Disassemble everything that can be disassembled. It is much easier to move several small pieces than one big piece. There will be enough danger of pulled muscles without trying to move bulky, heavy objects. 
• Move electronics in their original boxes if possible. After all, those boxes kept the equipment safe in warehouses and trucks before.

Basic Moving Tips
Arrange to have someone else help with the move. When moving, there are going to be a lot of heavy objects which can result in accidental injuries or strained muscles. It's better to have another person present to help with the heavy lifting so accidents and strains don't happen. Also, if the worst does happen, there is someone to call for help. Friends and relatives are a good source of help, especially if offered free pizza. If none can make it, though, temp agencies can provide reliable help for a reasonable cost.

Summer Moving Tips

• The biggest thing to think about when moving during the summer is hydration. No matter where a person is moving to or from, in the summer, it can be hot. Make sure to have plenty of water or other re-hydrating drinks available. Avoid sugary drinks such as soda as these cause dehydration. Start drinking extra water during the two days before the move for better protection against dehydration. 
• Plan frequent breaks. Even if someone is used to working outside during the summer, moving is physically exhausting and stressful. Do not risk heatstroke by overdoing it because, overheating once makes it more likely that a person will overheat again in the same day. 
• Put anything that is sensitive to heat or melting in an air conditioned car. Moving trucks can get 20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature. So, in moving to a new Boise house, the inside of the truck during summer can easily reach temperatures over 100 degrees.
