The Emmett School District, #221, covers the Gem County area and the city of Emmett, and towns of Letha, Ola, and Sweet. Families considering moving to Emmett, or any part of Gem County, will find Emmett School District a great place for educating their children.There are seven schools in the district:

· Kenneth J. Carberry Intermediate School
· Shadow Butte Elementary
· Emmett Junior High School
· Emmett High School
· Black Canyon High School
School Report Cards
In response to “No Child Left Behind,” Emmett schools take learning seriously, which is reflected in their district schools' report cards. Of all students in the school year 2009-2010, over 99% hit the targets for testing in reading, math, and language. This is blanket for all eight schools in the district. Additionally, the targets for proficiency in each subject were exceeded as well.
Curriculum
The Emmett School District provides standardized and supplemental learning experiences for each child. The curriculum for Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies prepares each student for his or her next stage of development, and prepares the young adults for successful adulthood, particularly for college-bound children. Advanced classes are available for 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, and cover Language Arts, Life Science, Social Studies (Civics, World Geography, and Humanities), Physical Science, English Literature, Astronomy, Geology, World History, and Advanced English.
The Math Curriculum includes Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics.
Safety- The "Safe Schools" ProgramParents are understandably concerned about ensuring their children are safe when they cannot be around to protect them. Emmett schools understand this, and are an active participant in the Safe Schools program. This pro-active program trains teachers and staff with a comprehensive course of study—including health emergencies, bullying, handling intruders and predators, suicide prevention, and conflict management.
