Blue face paint, bright orange apparel, with the air full of adrenaline and excitement...its all part of the thrill that comes from Boise life. Most of the TV sets in Boise homes are tuned in to watch the game. The Boise State University Broncos have become the talk of the college football world over the past few years. The Broncos have risen in national rankings and are attracting viewers from all across the nation. As you drive through the streets of Boise, you will see Bronco pride and a barbecue at almost every home in Boise.
The Boise State University Broncos
Playing their home games on the distinctive blue Astroturf of Lyle Smith Field at Broncos Stadium, the team has developed into one of the true powerhouses in Division I-A college football. In just four years as head coach, Chris Petersen has led the Broncos to three Western Athletic Conference championships, achieved an amazing three undefeated regular seasons, won two Tostitos Fiesta Bowls, and has earned the Paul "Bear" Bryant National Coach of the Year award twice. In 2009, the team ended the season with its best national ranking ever, fourth.

Life in BoiseAs the capital of Idaho, Boise maintains a population of 205,700 and is located in the southwest corner of the state. Boise is situated in a high-desert valley and doesn’t get much snow. While the city goes through a four-season cycle, winters don’t get that cold and summers don’t get that hot. July is the hottest month, with an average maximum temp of 90 degrees F, and January is the coldest month at 21.6 degrees F.though it may feel more extreme than that. Annual precipitation averages 12.1 inches, with the winter months being the wettest.
