Boise's Upcoming Marathons

Physically active adults who are searching for Idaho real estate will find the city of Boise to be an excellent location for outdoor races and running events during the summer. Those who plan on moving to a new Boise home this summer can enjoy many fundraisers, marathons, 5K races and fun runs to participate in while the weather is warm.
See Jane Run Women's Half Marathon & 5K
The See Jane Run Women's event is scheduled for June 18, 2011 in Boise and will feature three different races for runners of all stripes. Serious runners can tackle the 13.1 mile half-marathon, while beginning racers might want to try the 5K. The event will also hold a 1 mile run just for kids after the longer races have been completed. Walkers are also welcome as the race course will remain open for four hours. A post-race party will be held at Julia Davis Park after the event.
Logan's Run With Hope 5K
On July 16, 2011, the second annual Logan's Run With Hope 5K will be held in Boise Idaho. The race is held in honor of Logan White, an infant who died from SIDS-related causes in 2009. Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate in the 5K. Prior to the race, a benefit concert will be held for the community. Proceeds from the entire event benefit First Candle, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent stillbirth and SIDS and provides comfort to grieving parents who lose an infant child in death.
Fit for Life Half Marathon
Despite the name, the Fit for Life Half Marathon offers three separate races for runners. The half-marathon begins at 7:30 a.m., while the 10k race begins at 7:40 and the 5K run starts at 7:50. All races originate at Hawks Memorial Stadium in Boise and traverse the Greenbelt. To avoid long race day lines, participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets on Wednesday, July 6. An awards ceremony will be held after the race concludes and prizes will be given out to the first three finishers in each race as well as the fastest runners by age group.
The Dirty Dash 10K Boise
The Dirty Dash is an annual mud run event held in several cities across the United States each summer. In Boise, the event is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2011. Bogan Basin has been selected as the race venue and runners will race through miles of muddy ditches and over dirty obstacles, including the Slop 'n' Slide, the Hog Wash, the Pig Sty, and Razorback Alley. The race begins at 9:00 a.m. and participants will start the course in waves. At 12:30 p.m., the race event will be paused so that kids 12 and under can share in the Piglet Plunge, a one-mile children's race on the Dirty Dash course.
These races are a fun way to stay fit and have a good time for anyone who lives in the Boise, Meridian, and Eagle area.
