Real Estate... buy a house... Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, or Kuna... single-level or two-story... one or two car garage... fing a great home with the perfect backyard... these thoughts have kept you racing around for the last while as you've been making the decision to move to Boise-well enough with the real estate, you have a house, the race is won, now what? What will you and your kids do once you get here? Boise is just waiting for you to find out how great it really is. A wonderful place to raise a family, with quality schools, houses with large yards, safe neighborhoods, and plenty of activities throughout the city just for children-come on over and we'll show you around!

Whether it’s Roaring Springs water park, with a wave pool, family slide, endless river, avalanche, and more, parks like Ivywild or Fairmont, which have a playground, an outdoor pool, and more, or museums such as the Black History MuseumBlack History Museum, the Warhawk Air Museum, Boise Art Museum, your children will love living in Boise for the local community and city attractions alone. Also, they’ll be given the chance to be involved in extracurricular activities at school, such as Football, Baseball, Basketball, Dance, Color Guard, Choir, Orchestra, Band, Drama, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse, volunteering, Debate, and so much more that will keep them busy, entertained, educated, and giving back to the community.

Don’t forget to check out your local YMCA and community pools like the Boise City Aquatic Center to give your children a chance to exercise, burn off steam, stay fit, and meet new friends. Summertime can be great fun when participating in Y-ball, Racquetball, Water Polo, and more with the YMCA, and of course swimming is a must for every child’s summer vacation!

Some other local attractions include Boise’s Zoo and Discovery Center. The zoo not only has the classics—lions and tigers and bears, oh my!—but also presents specialty exhibits throughout the year. One of my personal favorites is the butterfly exhibit—you actually get to be in with hundreds of exotic butterflies flying around, drinking nectar, and landing on the visitors! The Discovery Center is a great way for kids and adults alike to learn how science can be fun—hands on! There’s the pulley system that lifts you high in the air, magnets that create designs in the metal “sand,” and a light box where you can take pictures of your shadows. Whether they’re doing experiments themselves, or learning about historical scientific experiments, your kids will love to discover and learn in this practical and fun learning environment.

Boise also boasts historical landmarks, like Owyhee Canyonlands and Little Jack's Creek, which provide educational opportunities for children of all ages. In addition, downtown in Boise’s favorites, Ann Morrison Park and Julia Davis Park, there are many chances to learn just across the river from Boise State. These include a memorial to Anne Frank that teaches about the Holocaust and her experience through empathetic statues and stirring quotations.
