Ketchum Idaho Homes and Lifestyle 

Ketchum is quite close to the Sun Valley ski resort and is roughly a three-hour drive to Boise. Many Ketchum homes top the pricing charts well into the millions of dollars as Ketchum real estate is the gold standard for Idaho. Ketchum Attractions

Ketchum makes a marvelous jumping off point for an assortment of exciting activities.  Clearly, one of the main attractions in the area is its ample supply of wonderful skiing, courtesy of the Sun Valley ski resort.  However, the area has an abundance of outdoor activities throughout the entire year.  The Sawtooth Recreation Area, for example, is nearly 800,000 acres in total and provides for all sorts of recreational opportunities.  Film fans will be interested to know that the classic Western movie Pale Rider was shot in Sawtooth.  

Even aside from skiing, this community has a variety of stand out attractions.  For example, Ketchum residents and visitors alike can enjoy the beautiful Sawtooth Botanical Gardens as well as the Wagon Days parade.  The Wagon Days Parade takes place Labor Day weekend and involves reenactments of exciting gunfights from the days when residents carried revolvers instead of skis! Area resident also enjoy nearby opportunities for camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking and everything outdoors in the beautiful Wood River Valley.
